MLN ROADSHOW EXPANDS HORIZONS FOR 2008/9

Business leaders offering free advice in economic downturn.

The Management Leadership Network (MLN) will kick off its inspirational Horizons Roadshow series with a call on the business community to expand their horizons if success is to be achieved in today’s difficult economic climate.  Following the success of the last series this year’s project is even bigger than ever, with two extra towns added to the road-map.

Supported by HR experts Grafton Recruitment, the business ‘masterclass’ series will visit 10 venues across Northern Ireland. These Roadshows are aimed at helping to promote business growth at all levels through increasing management and leadership capabilities using local successful business leaders who will share their experiences.

The first event will take place in Ballymena Business Centre, Galgorm Industrial Estate at 6:00pm on Wednesday 22 October where a senior team from Chambers Executive Travel and Vita Liberata will share their expertise.  Specialists will also be on hand from Department for Employment & Learning, Invest NI, Enterprise Agencies FE and other support bodies to provide advice on funded programmes and business support. The project then moves on to Newry, Craigavon, Belfast, Fermanagh, Coleraine, Derry, Bangor, and Lisburn before finally winding-up in Omagh.

As Bill Manson, MLN Chief Executive, explained at the launch, the opportunity to learn directly from those who know exactly what it takes to grow a business in Northern Ireland should not be missed;

“Our ‘Horizons Roadshow’ series is designed directly for any owners, managers and entrepreneurs. We have lined up an impressive list of home grown business talent all willing to provide an insight into their practice and thinking. This is a genuine opportunity to learn from the experience of those who have been and continue to be successful locally and internationally. The Horizon’s Roadshow project has been a great achievement as we can go out with our partners to spread the message that learning, developing and networking are even more important in times of business pressure”
Many managers have found great opportunities by attending these events.

As well as networking each evening seminar includes a specialist presentation from experts covering topics such as motivation, winning business, networking, planning and growing a business in addition to the keynote address. Furthermore a questions and answers session will enable attendees to gain guidance on any of their own personal management or leadership queries.

Caroline Kilbane, Head of Marketing for Grafton Recruitment who are strategic partners of the Horizons Roadshow, commented;

“We at Grafton know better than most businesses the importance of investing in your own leadership skills and the capacity of your staff. Indeed our own expansion beyond the UK and Ireland was driven by supporting our staff to move beyond comfort zones and spearhead projects and new offices right across Europe.

“With our network of offices seeking out the best people for our clients right across Northern Ireland we are looking forward to MLN arriving in each town to get the business community thinking about how they can grow and expand. In these times of economic difficulty it is even more important than ever to listen to the experts and shift your business in top-gear.”
