There is more to a recruitment agency than finding candidates to fill vacancies. The day-to-day interaction with the local business community gives the Grafton team insights to business and economic trends. Kerry Tosh, Area Sales Manager for Lisburn and Newry, tells us of some of the key drivers of business and concerns of business people in the area.
“Over the past 20 years Grafton has worked across various markets from the public sector and professional services to manufacturing and construction. We have seen growth, but also worked with companies that were hit hard by the global downturn in 2008. Employment patterns have changed. Temporary contracts remain an often preferred method of employment, as employers see more stability, but are still wary of what might happen outside their control.
Global brands like Coca Cola and Marks & Spencer, have positioned Lisburn as a key location within Northern Ireland but successful local businesses such as Camlin, James Leckey, Decora, Boomer Industries and Smiley Monroe are contributing to Lisburn’s success.
The future is looking bright, the proposed Maze Development site with new M1 link roads will open up 100 acres for industrial and mixed use developments. It is estimated that 4,000 jobs will be created over the next ten years, with a knock on effect on the construction and retail sectors.”
Knowing the local economy, local businesses and local people helps Grafton deliver the service that both clients and candidates expect from their employment partner in 2016.
