Accounts and Office Administration



The Client: Located in Newry, the company are a construction services company specialising in refurbishment, fit out, new build and also providing a range of specialist services

Hours of work: Mon to Fri 9am - 5pm


  • Bank reconciliations and Cash flow projections
  • VAT Returns - HMRC and ROI
  • Quarterly Statistic Returns
  • CIS Returns - HMRC
  • RCT Returns - ROI
  • Debtors Ledger
  • Management Accounts
  • Subcontractor payments - including notification of payments to HMRC and ROI
  • Maintenance and control of schedule of Retention withheld on Subcontractors
  • Supplier and Ad-hoc BACS payments
  • Subcontractor verifications with HMRC and ROI
  • Maintaining employee holiday records
  • Submission of information to Accountants for fortnightly and monthly payrolls (ROI and NI)

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent Grade C or above including Maths and English
  • 2 years financial experience including manual bank and cash reconciliations, credit control and a good working knowledge of a computerised accounting package which uses nominal ledger, purchase orders, sales and purchase ledger invoice processing.
  • Excellent IT skills including detailed knowledge of Excel and the ability to manage a database package
  • SAGE Accounts experience
  • Book keeping experience (essential with statutory returns)
  • Positive attitude towards team working
  • Previous experience within a construction company
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Good customer service skills both on the telephone and face to face, ability to use initiative and to work to strict deadlines

In Return:

  • Salary: £22k + based on experience
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days pro rata, including statutory and public holidays
