Job Description

Grafton Recruitment has been appointed as HSCNI's number 1 recruitment provider for Admin, Clerical and Support Services.

Band 3 Cook (based in the Staff canteen)

Catering related duties

  • Providing beverages, preparation/cooking of meals, light snacks including the regeneration of chilled/frozen product sandwiches and salads
  • To portion and serve meals and snacks to patients, staff and customers
  • Check and record food temperatures
  • Disposal of all environmental waste
  • Mechanical and manual dish washing
  • Stock control
  • Cleaning duties including all food areas, cutlery, crockery, utensils and equipment
  • Preparing trolleys as directed
  • To collect cash when required for items of food or beverages
  • Assist in menu collation
  • Prepare for and service at hospitalities and functions

Essential Criteria:

  • Have ability to maintain production records
  • Ability to carryout a range of service related tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to liaise wtih other members of staff and users

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a catering role in work environment
  • 3 months experience working in catering role in a work environment
  • Basic Food Hygiene qualification or NVQ Level 1 or equivalent
  • Previous Cash Handling experience
  • Have basic understanding of Health & Safety issues, Food Hygiene, COSHH, General knowledge of service industry
  • Willing to undertake further training

Working shifts:

  • 7.30-3.30 Mon-Fri

Hourly Rate:

  • £8.49
