Job description

Grafton Construction are delighted to be assisting our client in their recruitment of 2 building surveyors to prepare surveys for social housing refurbishment projects.

You will be joining a multi award winning local contractor who offer excellent salaries and benefits package.

The Key Performance indicator for the Building Surveyor is the preparation of surveys for social housing refurbishment projects within agreed timescales and budget controls and in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out measured building surveys
  • Prepare photographic/condition schedules
  • Prepare cost schedules
  • Prepare works task orders
  • Prepare works programming
  • Prepare building regulation notes
  • Prepare basic AutoCAD drawings
  • Liaise with all stakeholders
  • Agree final works orders with the client
  • Deliver the principles of quality and health and safety
  • Monitor the works when they progress to site to ensure they are being delivered in line with the agreed surveys and works orders in terms of quality and programme
  • Compile weekly progress reports to their line manager

Skills and Qualifications

The Building Surveyor will have the following qualifications or equivalent

  • Must have a third level qualification in Building Surveying
  • Possess 2 years' experience within the industry
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and professionalism
  • Hold a full UK driving license
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office

The Building Surveyor will also demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to work on their own initiative
  • Results orientated
  • Excellent commercial acumen

The position is based in Head Office (Belfast) with regular travel to site across Northern Ireland
