Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To coordinate and assist with all daily activities at Antrim's Lough Shore Park - incorporating Six Mile Water Caravan and Camping Park, Slipways, Car Park areas, Franchise operations and Special Events.

To ensure that all services are charged for, all related payments are collected, processed and accounted for in accordance with Council Policy.

To provide a quality service to all users, arranging bookings and allocating sites as per booking procedures, completing log-books, recording visitor arrivals/departures, replying to email enquiries and any other associated paperwork as required.

To liaise with appropriate Council staff on a daily basis regarding bookings taken and any operational issues in relation to the Caravan Park.

To open the Caravan Park reception in the morning and close at night.

To thoroughly clean the Caravan Park toilet, shower block, sluice room, reception area, TV lounge, games room, laundry room and dishwashing room at least twice daily, whilst ensuring the clean appearance of the overall site.

To regularly litter pick the Caravan Park area and report promptly when refuse & recycling bins need to be serviced.

To control and monitor safe access to both the riverside and Lough slipways and ensure that all rules, regulations, bylaws and instructions governing the use of the facility are enforced and reported to authorised Council staff as appropriate.

To undertake regular facility inspections and notify the relevant Council staff of any maintenance work and equipment repairs that may be required.

To precisely record all details of incidents/accidents, potential hazards to the public, breaches of Council bylaws and to patrol the Park, carry out security checks and log and report to the appropriate emergency service, regulatory body or Council Officers, any incidents of a serious nature e.g. speeding, noise abuse, destruction/theft of property, vandalism.

To ensure that all enquiries are dealt with to the highest standards of customer care by appropriate liaison with other onsite staff.

To liaise with the Lough Shore Park Supervisor, notify the relevant council staff and the operators of the Lough Shore Franchises and carry out delegated duties as and when required.

To ensure appropriate use of the disabled car parking spaces throughout the Lough Shore.

To carry out customer surveys amongst Lough Shore/Caravan Park users as required.

To assist in the set up, recovery and operation of Council events at the Lough Shore and activities as required.

To ensure that all tourist information on public display is up to date, well stocked and appropriately displayed at the Six Mile Water Caravan Park and Lough Shore Coffee House.

To ensure that the Health and Safety Policy of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council together with the procedures of Development and Leisure Services are complied with.

Any other duties as may be allocated, appropriate to the post's grade, including working in other sections of the Department and Council.

TRAINING

· Two GCSE passes in English and Maths Grades A-C (or equivalent)

· Experience of using computer software packages

· Experience of working in or an interest in the tourism/ hospitality/recreation industry

· Cash handling experience in a work environment
