Cleaning Supervisor

Carryduff Primary School

Monday - Friday 11.30am - 6pm

30hrs per week

Grafton are currently looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to supervise the activities of all Cleaning Operatives - this is a working Supervisor role. This is temporary to permanent position with the right person.

Role Responsibilities

Be responsible for locking up the building each evening.

Act as a key holder for callouts and for other emergency purposes alongside the Facilities Supervisor

Carryout general security duties i.e. checking fire exit doors and securing windows etc

Respond to all helpdesk requests

Record all works on a daily basis as requested by the Facilities Supervisor/Manager and/or client

Carryout any cleaning tasks as requested

Conduct weekly cleaning audits as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Act as Fire Marshal for Emergency Evacuations

Dispose of all rubbish on a daily basis.

Perform all porterage duties as required

Maintain good safety practices within the workplace.

Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Facilities Manager and/or Facilities Supervisor

Essential Criteria

  • 1 years previous experience supporting a small team
  • Own transport preferable
  • Knowledge of the cleaning sector and tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work and manage others
  • CIA security licence will be provided by employer

This job description may be subject to change according to service needs, changes will be made in consultation with post holder.


The post holder will be required to open the school when the Facilities Supervisor is on annual leave. There will be occasional requirements for the building to be open in the evenings. Post holder must be very flexible with working outside of their core hours.

CIA security licence will be provided by employer
