Job Description

Compliance Manager, Banking

Location: Dublin

Duration: Contract role, 6 months+

Summary:

The Role Holder will principally operate the 2nd Line of Defence as the independent Compliance advisory and challenge function for strategic remediation activity. The function is responsible for assisting the Board in the identification and mitigation of regulatory risk through the conduct of strategic remediation activity (regulator-mandated or otherwise).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of compliance advice in line with the Compliance Framework (BAU CF and, where applicable, project-specific CF), including compliance breaches and issues arising through error management in the execution of customer remediation, the design and delivery of new / amended products, and complaints and / or appeals management
  • Oversight of compliance in relevant engagement with Customers in respect of consistency with Regulatory and Conduct Obligations
  • Provide the Regulatory Lens view as required in Policy Development (including attendance as necessary at Policy Working Groups)
  • Prepare high-quality reports with meticulous attention to detail

Role Requirements Include:

  • Provision of compliance advice in line with the Compliance Framework (BAU CF and, where applicable, project-specific CF), including compliance breaches and issues arising through error management in the execution of customer remediation, the design and delivery of new / amended products, and complaints and / or appeals management
  • Oversight of compliance in relevant engagement with Customers in respect of consistency with Regulatory and Conduct Obligations, including in the development of a Suite of customer Letters, FAQs and various Appendices required
  • Ensure the Regulatory Lens view remains fit for purpose taking account of internal and external influences.
  • Escalation and reporting of incidents of / issues regarding non-compliance.
  • Provide the Regulatory Lens view as required in Policy Development (including attendance as necessary at Policy Working Groups)
  • Assist the Business in resolving areas of non-compliance by providing solution driven recommendations, taking into account the ongoing needs of the Business Executives.
  • Ensuring action plans are successfully implemented and embedded.
  • Develop strong business relationships with Senior Management teams.
  • Prepare high-quality reports with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, under pressure and achieving tight deadlines/milestones.

2LOD information and conduct wording

  • Manage appropriate risk and control frameworks for the organisation and subsidiaries to use to discharge their responsibilities
  • Independently oversee and challenge the effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetite
  • Risk practices and behaviours are consistent with the target risk culture
  • Provide expert advice on those aspects of risk management relevant to their area of expertise, including providing senior executives with relevant management information and reports, escalating concerns where appropriate

Knowledge and Experience

  • Confident and proven Compliance Professional with extensive relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of all relevant regulations, both internal and external
  • Proven track record of delivering strong and sustained performance and improving operational control and risk culture
  • Good people/team management experience with ability to develop and motivate others to meet demanding schedules.
  • Experience managing and influencing stakeholders with a record of building collaborative working relationships across reporting lines
  • Excellent research / analytical skills and proven ability in preparing high quality reports
  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk management measures, controls and related operational issues applying to Banking

This role is a controlled function as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointee must meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity Standards issued by the Central Bank
