Job Description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation requires a temporary full time Department Liaison Officer to start as soon as possible for a temporary assignment expected to last 3 to 6 months, with possible extension.

Pay rate: £12.31p/h

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Essential Criteria

A third level qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in a relevant discipline is required, ideally political science, communications or marketing AND a minimum of two years' experience working in a press/marketing/public affairs environment.

OR

GCSE Maths and English minimum grade c or above and a minimum of three years' experience of working in a press/marketing/ public affairs environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in Microsoft computer packages.

Experience of dealing with queries from the media or other stakeholders.

Experience of producing power point presentations/ slides including gathering information for slides

Duties

  • General office role to include maintaining budget spreadsheets, raising purchase orders when required and answering and responding to internal and external phone calls
  • As this post requires you to travel on occasion on official duty throughout Northern Ireland you must have a full driving licence or access to a reliable means of transport that will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. This is an operational requirement and is essential to meet business needs
  • A requirement to participate in an out of hours on-call rota as well as a requirement on occasion to work overtime; including weekends, public and privilege holidays

The two main areas of responsibility would be carrying out the duties of the DLO and production of various reports and updates for reporting on relation to activities undertaken by the Corporate Affairs Unit.

In addition, the post involves assisting with preparation of presentations by various business areas in particular those undertaken with local councils as part of the ongoing engagement strategy.

It is also likely that the post holder will be asked to participate and assist with the out of hour's duty rota
