Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available with our client for a Finance Assistant. Mon-Thur 9-5pm & Frid 9am-4pm.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager, the main focus will be issuing sales invoices & credits, credit control & dealing with customers.

Duties include;

  • Producing daily sales invoices
  • Keeping records of daily invoicing and credit note values; investigating any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for overseeing all month end invoicing procedures and processes.
  • Creating new customer accounts.
  • Performing weekly credit control procedures to ensure that credit limits are adhered to
  • Allocating receipts to debtors and payments to general ledger accounts, cheque receipt allocations
  • Running statement of accounts and sending to customers
  • Chasing overdue payments via the telephone, email and letter
  • Recording Receipts and making lodgements to the bank
  • Processing weekly payroll
  • Any other tasks associated with the above functions
  • Handling and Controlling debts and age of debts, involving customer contact. .
  • Recording and progressing customer queries within the business's obtaining prompt resolution to remove any reasons for non-payment.
  • Attending meetings when required to resolve debt control issues.
  • Allocating receipts to debtors and payments to general ledger accounts, cheque receipt allocations
  • Running statement of accounts and sending to customers.
  • Updating the system with relevant data from above tasks in timely manner, so information and data is correct in reports.

Essential Criteria;

  • You will be enthusiastic with a 'can do' attitude, willing to learn and continually improve new processes
  • Possess a high level of IT literacy, excel and other MS Office Programmes
  • Experience of working in a team with ability to use own initiative and work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.

Desirable:

Experience within a similar Finance role and experience of Credit Control would be beneficial but not essential.
