Finance Project Manager - Public Sector - €67k

At Grafton Recruitment we are currently recruiting on behalf of a Public Sector organisation experiencing a period of significant change and transition at this time. As part of this change they are implementing a major business transformation involving the introduction of SAP across their finance function and require and require a Finance Project Manager with strong ERP Implementation experience.

The purpose of this role will be to support the Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Reporting and Risk Management functions within the business with the business process design, SAP design, testing and implementation stages of the project.

This position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of the detailed business process designs (pre-design) for the relevant FP&A / T&RM processes
  • Engage and collaborate with external service providers (e.g. SAP S/4Hana and Project Management) where necessary in order to effectively deliver on the requirements for the relevant FP&A / T&RM project work stream
  • Work with the SAP S/4Hana System Integrator/s and other internal teams to define and agree the 'to-be' best practice business processes. Direct the development of project deliverables through application of business process design/improvement expertise
  • Work with the Project's internal Change Manager and external Change partner to plan, implement and manage change and communication solutions involving the Reporting, Forecasting & Financial Master Data area and its stakeholders
  • Assist the Project's external change partner and local deployment teams to plan, implement and manage the necessary organisation restructuring (including new Finance Shared Service operations) that will be required to facilitate the operation of the new business processes and system
  • Work with the internal Testing Team and Systems Integrator/s to coordinate testing for all aspects as relevant to the role
  • Deliver regular status updates/recommendations to the PMO
  • Use previous experience to identify, evaluate and coordinate recommendations for SAP solutions to align and enable word class, best practice business processes
  • Obtain approval from Main Process Custodian (MPC) regarding Process Design changes
  • Engage and collaborate with external service providers (e.g. SAP S/4Hana and Project Management) where necessary in order to effectively deliver on the requirements for the relevant FP&A / T&RM project work stream
  • Deliver regular status updates and recommendations to the Project Management Office (PMO)

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • Membership of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a Senior Management role in end-to-end business system project, including; business process design, functional and technical design, testing, implementation, deployment and delivery, as relevant to the role
  • Significant experience of working collaboratively cross functionally within a complex working environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders, as relevant to the role
  • Significant experience of Reporting, Forecasting & Financial Master Data processes and systems as relevant to this role
  • The requisite knowledge, ability and experience (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Financial Reporting, Forecasting & Financial Master Data systems in a Shared Service Centre (SSC)/ large computerised organisation
  • Significant progressive experience supporting an enterprise SAP ERP solution
  • In-depth and up to date experience and knowledge of accounting, controlling, procurement and financial reporting and analysis
  • Report writing skills, including evidence of proficiency in communicating analytical outcomes to managers through written reports
  • Working knowledge of relevant IT systems e.g. SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Business Planning & Consolidation module (SAP BPC) MS Office skills to include, Word, Advanced Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, Outlook or Lotus Notes, including experience with SAP Business intelligence and experience as a SAP user
  • Project Management Training/certification

This permanent position will be located in Dublin 18 and will be offered on the first point of the Grade VIII salary scale (€67,135).
