Head of Communications
Grafton Recruitment is delighted to have been retained by the Irish FA to appoint a Head of Communications.
The Irish FA have a launched a new forward thinking strategy aimed at promoting, fostering and developing football for all, the Irish FA continues to go from strength to strength in correlation with the team's recent success on the pitch. Due to this success the Irish FA are seeking to appoint a Head of Communications that will manage all communications with the media.
The Head of Communications will deliver and lead a world class communications function (both internal and external) across all companies within the Irish FA group. This role will involve engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and providing senior counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chair on a range of matters.
The Head of Communications will formulate and deliver a strategic communications plan for the Irish FA encompassing the senior men's and women's teams, the Foundation, the Stadium Development Company, Club NI, corporate communications and internal communications and work closely with the Head of Sales and Marketing to ensure all partnership communication requirements are delivered and expectations exceeded.
The role requires the successful candidate to have a degree in communications, marketing or business related field or significant relevant experience in a senior communications or marketing role.
The Head of Communications must have a demonstrable track record in delivering clear and consistent communications strategies as well as developing and leading a successful communications department. In addition He/She must have a strong network of media contacts both locally and internationally and a sound understanding of both traditional and new media formats and the value of utilising either/both types of channels.
The successful Head of Communications will enjoy a competitive salary depending on experience plus bonus and expenses.
The Head of Communications role will be based in Belfast but will involve international travel.
