Job description

Our Client:

Headquartered in Galway, our client is a market leader in their field. They are currently experiencing growth in the market with and they are seeking to appoint a HR Generalist with 3-5 years experience.

Contract Cleaning or Service Sector experience desirable.

As the HR generalist you will be involved in a whole range of HR activities which include recruitment, employee development, employee relations, industrial relations, employment law, compliance, disciplinary and grievance issues and the management of the TUPE process. There is a strong Employee Relations element to this role.

The job also involves keeping up to date with employment law.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved with the recruiting of non-operative
  • Interpreting and advising on employment legislation; develop and implement policies on a variety of workplace issues g. disciplinary procedures, absence management, working conditions, performance management and equal opportunities.
  • Hearing grievances and implementing disciplinary
  • Conducts and manages investigations of complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on policy and
  • Analysing training needs in conjunction with managers; planning and sometimes delivering
  • Advising the team in dealing with employee relations issues and maintaining good

Employee relations:

Good employee relations are at the core of the HR generalist role who acts as an advisor on specific areas of employment law, negotiates during union or employee disputes and ensures the wider workforce is aware of company policies and procedures.

Authority includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Maintaining employment policies.

Managing the implementation of Company procedures by management.

Managing legal issues as they arise.

Managing issues such as long-term absence.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

HETAC level 8 Degree in HR or CIPD.

Contract Cleaning or Service Sector experience desirable.

* It may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours including weekends from time to time.
