Job Description

Grafton Specialist are working in conjunction with our client in their recruitment of an HSEQ officer. With over 30 years experience my client is one of Ireland's leading geotechnical solution companies with projects in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and through out the UK.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Management System.
  • Participating in audit systems and management systems.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and site inductions; completing toolbox talks; recording audits.
  • Working with contracts manager, office staff and site teams to ensure that site documentation is relevant, timely and accurate.
  • Participating in company training, occupational health etc.
  • Supporting further development and design improvements to our existing HSEQ documentations and systems.
  • Review and update handbooks and policies.
  • Review and update safe systems of work, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Helping reduce the number of H&S incidents to zero accidents.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential criteria:

  • Educated to third level in a business, environmental or health & safety related discipline.
  • Clean driving license and access to own transport.
  • At least two years' experience in a similar type role.
  • Broad understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and Codes of Practice.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • IT Literate.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and balance demands from numerous sources.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in piling / construction environment.
  • Person profile:
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels.
  • Strong ability to self-manage and to use initiative to complete tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a small team.
  • A genuine passion for health & safety.

Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience.
