Information Technology Architect

Location: Dublin

Salary: TBC

Grafton Specialist Recruitment has been retained to recruit an IT Business Analyst based in Dublin.

The Role

My client is an IT intensive business, and they operate a state-of-the-art, specialised business-critical systems, 24/7. As they transition to a low-carbon energy future, this is an opportunity for someone to operate at a strategic level to shape and influence IT strategy within their Human Resource and Corporate Services Directorate and make a real impact as part of a centralised architecture function.

The successful candidate will be able to guide projects down the right technical paths, looking after not only the technical architecture choices but the impact of those choices on the overall solution approach. You will be responsible for ensuring that technology and application platforms are scalable, extensible and cost effective in line with IT strategy and customer needs. This includes the creation and governance of strategies, technology roadmaps, reference architectures and standards. You will provide thought leadership and advocate industry best practices and principles.

You will create and maintain strategies, roadmaps and reference models for infrastructure, data, application and business architecture domains. You will also contribute to the development of the IT strategy and collaborate with colleagues to contribute to strategic planning and business planning activities.

Requirements

  • You will have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology management or other relevant degree, with a minimum of 6 years professional experience in an IT architecture role with a holistic understanding of application, data and infrastructure technologies.
  • You will also enjoy keeping your existing technical skills up to date and developing new ones, so that you can make strong contributions to architecture decisions.
  • Most importantly, you will need to be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders to support the delivery of IT services.
  • You will need to have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills along with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide your own work under minimal supervision.
