Job description

Grafton Procurement and Supply, Belfast, are recruiting for an Inventory Manager on behalf of a leading FMCG manufacturer in County Londonderry. Following a recent M&A, the successful Inventory Manager will be responsible for streamlining the material flow and S&OP processes in this multi-site operation. This role will appeal to process-driven Supply Chain professionals who have experience in a similar role.

Reporting to the Site Accountant, the Inventory Manager will be responsible for building proactive relationships with stakeholders across the business, driving weekly statistical reviews, identifying areas of improvement, solving problems at source and driving positive change. The Inventory Manager will ensure that all stock management processes are adhered too and implement and maintain Asset Management systems. Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring robust processes and accurate stock data are in place
  • Leading timely stock counts and reporting adjustments
  • Developing stock management policies and reporting procedures to support current and future decision making
  • Resolving stock issues
  • Supporting ERP implementation and new ways of working
  • Designing, developing and revising best practice SOP's and delivering training on the same
  • Continuous improvement to increase operational capacity
  • Building and developing the Inventory function to understand if further investment in headcount is required

In order to be successful, you should be educated to degree level and have substantial experience in a similar role which has included detailed knowledge of warehousing and inventory control in an FMCG environment. Your experience should include reconciling stock/assets and data interpretation and manipulation. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have excellent communication skills with the ability to build stakeholder relationships. You should be persuasive with the ability to deliver communications to the intended audiences. The successful Inventory Manager should be flexible in approach and be comfortable being developed as well as developing others.

Preference will be given to candidates who, as well as the above, have worked in an FMCG environment.
