Job Description

Loan Officer

My client based in Belfast urgently requires a Loan Officer for their growing business. The Loans Officer is responsible for providing a first class service, specialising in loan facilities with the responsibility for loan sanctioning and working in the best interests of the customers.

The role:

  • Maintains the highest levels of customer service at all times
  • Deals with loan applications and all other loan related matters
  • Responsible for the assessment and sanction of loan facilities in line with the policies agreed by the Board
  • Responsible for the delivery of loan decisions, delivering all decline decisions to members verbally with a duty of care and sensitivity
  • Recording accurately all information gathered from customers, ensuring notes are a true and factual record of information obtained
  • Responsible for efficiently managing and dealing with all loan administration, i.e. Equifax, R-Post and transactions
  • Assisting the Lending Manager with the implementation of new products and business growth targets

Key skills:

  • Over 1 years relevant financial experience
  • Track record in financial compliance within a relevant business
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
  • Experience of broader mutual financial provision
  • Financially literate with the ability to critically review, challenge and effectively utilise financial information for decision making and experience of communicating complex financial matters
  • Makes clear, proportionate and justifiable decisions and prepared to make the ultimate decision
  • Analytical skills
  • Good IT skills
