Job Description

Management Accountant

I am looking for an excellent Management Accountant with the ability and will to help drive business forward. Working for a rapidly expanding organisation in County Down, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the managed growth and expansion of the business. If you are CCAB qualified(or equivalent) and have extensive experience of detailed management accounting & budgeting as well as interpretation/communication of financial information along with great all round technical accounting skills then this is the role for you!

Main duties:

  • Full management accounts preparation
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Detailed analysis on all areas of the P&L
  • Liaise with management to identify and develop opportunities for business growth
  • Investigating and reporting any significant variances and KPIs compared to budget/forecast, prior year and prior period
  • Year-end accounts preparation including liaison with external auditors
  • Submission of VAT, PAYE and year-end returns
  • Maintain an effective budgetary control and analysis
  • Identify major budget variances, determining the cause of such variations and, where appropriate, making recommendations for corrective action
  • Report to the Senior Management Team and assist delivering Company objectives and to aid strategic decision making
  • Assess and aim to improve appropriate accounting policies and procedures
  • Month end reporting and analysis of financial information
  • Act as key advisor on technical accounting and finance issues

Key skills

  • CCAB Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • Extensive Management/Financial Accounting and P&L Analysis
  • Proven ability to evaluate and improve on processes and procedures
  • Advanced Excel skills including Vlookups, Macros, Formulae, Pivot Tables etc
  • Experience of working with both financial and non-financial managers
  • Significant experience working with financial systems and processes
  • Internal controls experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a pressurised environment
