Job Description

Our Client, a Large Public Sector Organisation require a temporary Project Assistant until end of September to support on a metering and billing project.

Role: Project Assistant

Duration: Until end of September

Location: Belfast City Centre

Hours of Work: Mon - Fri 9am -5pm

Pay rate: £8.77p/h

Key duties / Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Rapid (customer billing system) and other systems to verify accuracy of information on investigated properties
  • Reviewing site visit reports to determine responsibility for water charges and update accounts accordingly
  • Using Billing policy guidance, ensure customers are being billed correctly and treated equitably
  • Confirm the meter-/water supply status of properties is correctly recorded on Rapid
  • Identify changes to processes and structures which will improve customer experience in a range of areas
  • Improving data quality, preventing regression and ensuring all business customers who avail of services from the client are charged appropriately for these services.
  • Adhering to established company processes and identify/implement improvements
  • Ensure fair and equitable billing through adherence to financial processes and delegations
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and other reporting tools to aid data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and proactively provide solutions
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness
  • Develop relationships and work in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders across all areas of the business
  • Co-ordinate, prioritise and schedule work on a daily and weekly basis to optimise achievement of service level agreements and subsequent regulatory targets through agreed project work streams
  • Effective team working and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Other general duties as required by line management

Essential Criteria

  1. A minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade C or above, to include English and Math's, or equivalent
  2. 1 year's previous experience in a business support role to include
  • Data entry;
  • Interpretation & Analysis of data with attention to detail
  • Self and time management in order to prioritise with minimal supervision
  1. Experience of working to deadlines in a team environment
  2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Experience using MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook) in a professional (commercial or business) and/or academic environment

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience in a customer service environment
  2. Working knowledge of a customer billing system
  3. Previous experience in a utility environment
