Job Description

To assist the QSE Supervisor / Manager by contributing to and implementing QSE standards to meet the Company's business needs and deliver safe and high-quality product.

The successful candidate will supervise important functions throughout the sites Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental processes. The successful candidate will monitor and advise on company's policies to ensure best practice and good manufacturing processes are sustained throughout the business. Candidates will work closely alongside the shift manager and provide support where required.

Duties:

Prepare health and safety documentation as required.

Support in coordinating and/or delivering health and safety training as required.

Review, coordinate and complete risk assessments/method statements across work areas and activities alongside the H & S Officer.

In conjunction with the H & S Officer / QSE Supervisor, carry out safety inspections on facilities, machinery & safety equipment.

Monitor the completion of health and safety actions and feedback to H & S Officer.

Follow health and safety instructions provided and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.

Ensure that all product is manufactured to customer specification alongside production.

Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and practices, e.g. BRC, Customer Codes of Practice, ISO14001, and report on the same

To ensure that the Right First Time procedures are followed and co-ordinate with regards to set-up and quality standards.

Liaise with lab team to ensure that product being manufactured according to specification and deviations are actioned immediately.

Complete all CAPA's alongside shift leads and ensure these are closed off within the same shift where possible, and action taken with held goods within the same shift.

Liaise with NPD and provide technical assistance during trial productions and first productions, including information gathering for reports.

Assist with closing out customer complaints through online monitoring and staff briefing of issues.

Advise and assist on all matters affecting quality throughout the production process, from raw material intake to finished goods standards.

Assist QSE Supervisor / Manager in providing training, coaching and support to all site functions on QSE policies and procedures.

Ensure food safety and HACCP standards are always maintained and CAPA's complete where deviations have occurred.

Report KPIs and progress against QSE departmental KPI's to QSE Supervisor / Manager weekly and provide management information on request. Action KPI deviations in a timely manner.

Monitor Waste processes and report any deviances from legal compliance.

Monitor and advise in relation to waste levels during production, with the view to reduction where possible, to include product, utilities and energy.

Provide support to Lab during periods of annual leave. Candidate must be flexible with regards to working hours.

Actively participate in all customer visits and site audits.

Complete internal audits and put actions in place for all deviations.

Undertakes tasks and projects from time to time as may be reasonably required of you by Management in connection with your duties.

Must have Qualifications/ Experience

§ Min Level 2 Food Safety qualification

§ Min Level 2 HACCP Qualification

§ Auditing Qualification

Recognised H & S qualification to IOSH standard or above

§ Experience in a Technical/Quality role within the food/drinks industry

§ Previous Laboratory Experience and / or QA experience

§ Previous experience of working to BRC and major retailer standards

§ Evidence of effective organisational, planning and time management skills with a proven track record of success in meeting challenging deadlines

§ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

§ Confident and approachable in dealing with people

§ Proactive and can-do approach
