Grafton Procurement and Supply have partnered with a well known FMCG distributor in Newry, County Down to recruit for a Senior Buyer. My client are a rapidly expanding FMCG company who have a vast product portfolio. They have customers spanning multiple sectors in the UK and Ireland. An innovative and forward thinking business, they have enjoyed year on year growth over the past decade and are continuing to upscale their business. As Senior Buyer, you will report to the Commercial Director and be responsible for a purchasing administrator. You will be responsible for creating the companies strategy for the purchase of goods and services. The successful Senior Buyer will formulate procurement direction and manage change, implementing leading-edge procurement strategies and process improvements. You will be manage strategic projects such as supplier rationalisation, NPI, Lean and stock optimisation. Other duties will include:
- RFQ, RFI, tendering
- Sourcing and influencing supply markets with solutions
- Managing tenders, purchase orders, forecasting & expediting
- Monitoring and reporting on procurement team member's performance through setting KPI's,
- Developing, owning and managing the procurement process and strategy
- Contracts & negotiation
- Regular informed planning & communication with all key stakeholders

In order to be successful, you should hold a third level qualification and should be a highly competent and multi level communicator with excellent negotiation skills. You should be an engaging, assertive and confident communicator with the ability to influence change and challenge stakeholders at all levels. You should be able to demonstrate sourcing best practice and experience of managing multiple projects ac cross multi-disciplinary teams. Preference will be given to candidates who, as well as the above, are CIPS students or currently undertaking a CIPS qualification.
