Job Description

Grafton Recruitment are working in partnership with the Northern Ireland Civil Service to recruit a temporary Staff Officer Accountant.

Hourly rate of pay: £12.70 increasing to £17.43 after 12 weeks

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37 per week

Essential Criteria

The qualifications required for the grade are to have successfully completed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the following bodies detailed below

  • Chartered Accountants in Ireland;
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;
  • The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;
  • The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
  • The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy; or
  • The Institute of Certified Public Accounts in Ireland.

Duties

  • Ensure accurate information regarding monthly accruals/prepayments is submitted within deadlines
  • Ensure PIP monthly costs/service credits are validated before payment
  • Authorise payment of monthly fixed/variable/accommodation or other contract costs once adequately validated
  • Ensure monthly contract performance is recorded and monitored against service levels
  • Ensure monthly performance reports are completed accurately and distributed to appropriate stakeholders
  • Liaise with business areas to accurately forecast contractual volumes
  • Use financial/performance data to challenge supplier costs/inaccurate reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly budge reports and budget profiling reports for Commercial Services
  • Use annual financial data to forecast future Commercial Services budget requirements
  • Periodic review all contract payments/income to ensure accuracy and ensure vfm
  • Review an change control requests/impact assessments to assess and advise on any financial impacts to PIP Contract
  • Provision of accurate contract related information as required
  • Provide financial / performance related information and analysis in relation to contracts as requested
  • Undertake financial analysis and modelling to inform future procurement activities
