Job Description

The Client:

Would you like to work with an independent business with huge longevity who support your ideas and encourage growth & learning? Do you have fresh food experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a retail Store Manager to join a fantastic team in Galway.

The Role:

Ensure delivery of store targets (both in terms of sales & profitability) through the effective management of store operations and personnel. To ensure plans and priorities are implemented through the empowerment of the team and effective performance management techniques, ensuring that at all times the Customer is at the heart of our Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The recruitment, training and development of high quality personnel for store operations
  • Rostering and general management of personnel to ensure adequate cover within budgetary provisions
  • Account for weekly labour costs
  • Accurate payment of wages in accordance
  • Plan and organise operation ensuring consistent service provided to the customer
  • Managing the overall performance of the store & ensure team is motivated
  • Continually communicate with Assistant Store Manager and staff regarding objectives and store performance
  • Setting goals for the store to ensure effective customer service and competitiveness
  • Proactive communication to the senior management team

FINANCE

  • Sales performance and corrective action in poor performing departments
  • Introduction and growth of new concepts in the store
  • Scan Margin performance and corrective action in poor performing departments
  • Compliance with target payroll hours and weekly holiday KPI
  • Delivering rostered hours in actual performance
  • Accurate wastage measurement and corrective action
  • Responsibility for cash office
  • Stock take completion and corrective actions
  • Obtaining financial reports, analysing same and reporting any discrepancies to
  • Working to the budgets as issued by senior management
  • Ensure overheads are controlled and minimised where appropriate
  • Ensure store sales are maximized & ensure store margins are managed appropriately and profitability of store is maximised

OPERATIONS

  • Ensure operation runs efficiently and smoothly
  • Ensure store standards are consistently improved in terms of housekeeping, merchandising, presentation and service
  • Ensure that store checklists are completed twice daily and action taken as
  • Plan for market changes and demands as they arise
  • Ensure in-store promotions are managed appropriately and that mailer display plans are fully executed
  • Ensure policies and procedures are implemented and managed within the store
  • Manage cash handling in line with company cash handling procedures and take action on any discrepancies that arise
  • Manage store merchandising ensuring appropriate "value" image is portrayed in line with company procedures
  • Accountable for ensuring consistently high levels of customer service
  • To ensure all customer complaints are dealt with in the appropriate manner
  • To take necessary action in store improvements following customer complaints
  • Ensuring that you are aware of community events and proactively be involved where appropriate ensuring Senior management are aware of same

STOCK MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure effective stock control systems are in place
  • Preparation for and management of stock take
  • Ensure effective stock control procedures are in place to minimise stock loss
  • Ensure effective food management and waste systems are implemented, managed and updated appropriately
  • Identify areas of stock leakage and ensure effective systems are in place to minimise stock loss (e.g. through pilferage, wastage, damages)

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Ensuring that you work in line with the company's objectives and working in partnership with the Management team and owners
  • Adhering to HR, Health & Safety and HACCP regulations at all times and ensuring that you lead by example
  • At all times keeping sensitive and confidential matters
  • Ad hoc duties as required
