RESPONSIBLE TO: Summer Scheme Co-Ordinator/Leader in Charge


  • As part of a team to deliver a summer scheme programme.
  • To work as part of a team and encourage all children to actively participate in the programme.
  • Meet all compliance responsibilities

To apply for this position you must meet the following criteria

At Least 1 YEARS EXPERIENCE (within the last 3 years in a play work setting) in the following areas

Play work setting includes: BB, GB, Scouts Youth club, sports club youth/junior sections, church-based youth activities

Experience of working with children aged 5 - 11 years in a play setting eg:

  • Facilitating a range of stimulating play activities (arts/crafts, music, small games, group games, storytelling, sports, cookery etc)
  • Ensuring play program is inclusive and meets diverse needs
  • Interacting with children and managing their behaviour, in a positive and supportive manner, and according to Behaviour Agreement and ensuring consistent/equitable approach

Managing compliance:

  • Ensuring safeguarding mechanisms are observed and applied and reports are made appropriately and according to policy and the Children Behaviour Agreement

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and proactively participate in activities
  • Know the children in your team
  • Attend orientation session
  • Ensure all reporting is completed as appropriate
  • To be proactive in encouraging positive behaviour in children and to manage challenging behaviour in accordance with Behaviour Agreement
  • Any other duties
