Role: Systems & Software Engineering Director

Location: Antrim

Salary: TBC

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineering managers, design and process engineers in a new product development environment and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical direction for the team and establishes clear goals, strategies, and initiatives to drive new sensor and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems platform developments and ensure achievement of technical, design to cost and financial metrics.
  • People Management and Talent development of team members i.e. recruitment, performance reviews, compensation recommendations, succession planning, performance improvement and employee relations.
  • Assist in developing technology and product roadmaps by collecting voice of customer.
  • Influencing product designs during new product development phase to insure economical and defect free manufacture.
  • Drive key global product quality and cost reduction roadmaps on existing products.
  • Gain cooperation of others, conduct presentations of technical information with specifics on projects/schedules and timelines. Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements and expectations and developing/driving actions and schedules needed to support those program expectations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including process engineering, marketing, the Product Management Team and the Manufacturing site operations team.
  • Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned

Essential Criteria

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • BSc/BEng in Computer Science or Software related 3rd level qualification required. MS and or MBA preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the architecture of Microcontroller ICs, ASICS and their corresponding design processes.
  • Working level knowledge of multiple high and low-level coding languages, and the system and software testing and validation methods.
  • Hands on experience of Agile/SCRUM development processes.
  • Strong experience of the tools used to capture and cascade System Level requirements.
  • Experience and passion for inspiring and leading engineering teams.
  • Must be able to successfully manage and motivate team members across various locations.
  • Ability to work across all functions and levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement standardized processes and best practices.
  • Design for Manufacturability, Design of experiments, Functional understanding of advanced quality planning tools including FMEA, Control plans, ISO and IATF.
  • Establishing and/or operating global software centers.
  • Ability to positively influence and build relationships with global team members. The work is in a fast-paced development environment with complex project attributes. Influencing skills are important as the candidate must leverage others in the organization to complete their goals.
  • Engineering aptitude to participate in Design/Process reviews.
  • Experience with automotive OEM's and/or Tier 1 suppliers is also a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally to our business centers and manufacturing sites as needed is a mus
