Our public sector client is looking to recruit a Data Specialist Support Officer in Ballymoney
The post-holder will be required to:
Deliver ICT projects to the clients strategy on information management. The post-holder will be expected to provide support for specialist data extraction and analysis skills using programming tools such as structured query languages. They will be required to develop and maintain effective communication networks with all stakeholders and to undertake tasks assigned to them by the Information Systems Project Manager.
Duties will include:
- Assist with the routine maintenance and support of the the clients local data warehouse and Business Information portal to ensure continuity of service for users.
Assist with the enhancement and development of existing and new Business Information applications and dashboards, employing best practice processes for development.
Assist with testing, providing and maintaining methods of extracting data from systems that are automated and suitable for further analysis by users.
Work with System Managers and Service Managers to understand the linkages between database structures and the identified reporting requirements (including those required for monitoring data quality)
Analyse and test the extracted data to ensure that the information provided is accurate and meets requirements.
Employ the principles of good information governance ensuring data security is maintained, as outlined in the Trust's ICT Security Policy.
Assist with solutions for the extraction and manipulation of historical data from systems that are being replaced.
Manage project work as assigned by the IS Project Managers using the PRINCE2 Project Management Methodology, ensuring that outputs are delivered on time, to standard and within budget.
Assist with the specification and development of interfaces between systems, particularly in relation to database structures.
Provide system and user documentation for any solutions implemented.
Deliver training and support to users
Communicate effectively at all levels, including with system suppliers and regional groups on technical data related issues
Assist with the research on new technology in the area of database analysis and query tools.
A University Degree or a recognised equivalent qualification in an ICT Discipline, Engineering or Mathematics;
1 year of experience of interrogating and manipulating complex databases/datasets using analysis and query tools in a practical work environment.
2 years practical experience of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes (or equivalent), such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and intranets / internet.
HND / HNC or NVQ Level 4 in an ICT Discipline, Engineering or Mathematics
2 years experience of interrogating and manipulating complex databases/datasets using analysis and query tools1 in a practical work environment.
2 years practical experience of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes (or equivalent), such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access2, Outlook and intranets / internet.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
