Bid Writer

Grafton are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading provider of Fire and Security systems for a Bid Writer. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career with a forward thinking, dynamic company. You will play a pivotal role in the strategic bid support team to produce and write compelling and winning bid responses that clearly articulate the organisation's value proposition.


* Ensure all relevant bid procedures and processes are followed in accordance with RFI process and the RFP instructions
* Monitor / Manage / and Chair meeting to discuss the RFI/RFP opportunities
* Challenge and understand the strategy to win in order to articulate our proposition into words
* Highlight to Sales Director, Strategic Bid Management any work requiring input from specialist subject matter experts
* Prepare first to final drafts of responses to client RFI/RFPs using boilerplate, rewritten and customised content
* Proof read, and sense check for accuracy, the RFI/RFP responses, when required
* Ensure all RFI/RFP responses consistently adhere to company, layout and messaging standards
* Ensure sign off received from Sales Director Lead prior to delivery to client
* Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids

Person Specification:

* Previous experience of working on and responding to RFPs
* Some experience of producing and editing proposal content within a business environment
* Demonstration of previous experience in the Construction/ Electrical Contracting industry preferred
* Degree standard, or equivalent industry experience/accreditation (i.e. APMP)
* Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio skills & beneficial if they have knowledge of CAD
* Excellent attention to detail, proof-reading and research skills
* Strong and persuasive writing style
* Able to work under pressure with strong prioritisation skills, and work to client set deadlines
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
* Proven ability of working with all levels of seniority across the business
* Perseverance and determination
* Ability to turn text into a graphics
