Business Development Director

Our client, who provides services in Foreign Direct Investment are looking to recruit a Business Development Director for its contract with a leading UK Economic Development Agency. You will work closely with the office-based Business Development Analyst to identify target companies and decision-makers, secure qualified meetings, build relationships, identify opportunities and win business.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement a sales strategy that enables Northern Ireland to attract and win new foreign direct investment in target sectors
* Create a programme of strategic marketing engagements that enable the building of relationships with key C-Level decision makers and the positioning of Northern Ireland as an attractive location
* Develop and implement an operational plan that enables the delivery of KPIs, including qualified meetings, prospect development, pipeline management and inward visit programmes by target investors
* Plan and deliver a programme of marketing engagements that enable early identification of opportunities, population of early stage pipeline and identification of new target companies and contacts
* Work with the team to plan and deliver alumni events in GB, where required
* Identify companies whose growth and development strategy is ideal for the Northern Ireland
* Direct a team support colleague with target analysis, profile building, media watch, lead generation and appointment setting
* Build and maintain strong relationships with decision makers in key accounts
* Manage a pipeline of accounts - often shared with colleagues in differing locales (Dublin, Brussels, USA, India)
* Follow-up proactively with prospective clients
* Develop innovative investment propositions which align the Northern Ireland product with customer requirements
* Develop a network of relevant industry and influencer contacts within the target market to help identify and qualify target prospects
* Build and maintain amicable, profitable relationships with colleagues
* Create a tailored offering for each prospective client that includes presentations, proposals and cost models
* Develop opportunities from early stage interest to commitment, visit, negotiation and selection of Northern Ireland as the location of choice
* Create and submit reports and other administrative documents accurately on time
* Accurately record customer and other information on the appropriate systems

Essential Criteria:

* Degree level education or equivalent
* At least 3 - 5 years post graduate front line B2B solutions- sales experience, preferably selling to companies outside the UK & Ireland
* Track record of planning sales activity and delivering to target
* Experience of building and maintaining relationships at C-Level in Blue Chip Companies
* Knowledge and experience of working on project-based/Key Account sales
* Knowledge and experience of team selling
* Experience with customer relationship management tools and processes

Desirable Criteria:

* Business analysis experience
* Experience of living and doing business outside of the UK & Ireland
* Experience of selling to the BPO/KPO Sector
