Business Development Manager

Grafton are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading retailer within the FMCG sector for a Business Development Manager with a proven track record of commercial success in a competitive B2B environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join an established brand and an already proven successful sales team. You will develop the brands in NI by identifying opportunities for new business and overseeing the smooth integration of new retail partners into the Company.

Responsibilities:

* Present and sell the benefits of brands and model to potential new retailers
* Develop a journey plan with call frequency, to include cold calling
* Generate own leads and set appointments
* Build good working relationships with property agents and legal teams
* Identify suitable, new retail partner
* Engage with nominated business partners to establish opportunities in areas of under representation
* Work cross functionally with other internal departments to build knowledge base
* In conjunction with the Retail Accounting function, produce financial projections for prospective new sites
* In conjunction with the Store Development team, produce store plans and costings for retail projects
* Present plans to retailer in conjunction with Store Development/ Retail Accounting personnel
* Ensure retailer is appropriately supported and motivated during initial integration period
* Ensure new store facilitation is planned
* Liaise with the appropriate internal functions where necessary to provide smooth integration

Essential Criteria:

* 3 years sales and/or business development experience
* The ability to demonstrate and evidence a strong track record in sales and/or the securing of new business
* A forward thinking and creative sales approach
* Results-driven
* The ability to build long term relationships
* Strong interpersonal skills at a face-to-face level
* Confident negotiation skills and the ability to close a deal
* The ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
* The ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks
* Full driving licence

Desirable Criteria:

* Strong working knowledge of the independent grocery retail sector in Northern Ireland
