Job Description

Business Development Manager

Grafton are recruiting for a Business Development Manager on behalf of a leading textile supplier. You will identify and undertake direct marketing and sales activities, so as to develop and maintain new sales of products, in accordance with agreed business plans and individual targets. You will effectively identify and secure new accounts whilst ensuring customer satisfaction and the required sales objectives in terms of value, volume, delivery and profit.


* Effectively identifying and qualifying new revenue opportunities
* Communicating products and services to prospective clients
* Leading resources in following up new business opportunities by organising and leading meetings both external and internal
* Taking management responsibility for tendering activities
* Planning and preparing presentations and being a lead presenter in any bid pitch
* Ensure all prospecting and pipeline management reports, updates and information re products as required.
* Provide management with market sector and business activity feedback and undertake direct marketing and sales activities as and when required
* Provide Account Management Departments with detailed progress reports on business development activities and ensure a seamless handover of accounts once secured
* Ensure that all corporate KPIs are met including those related to customer satisfaction, revenue generation and budget management

Person Specification:

* 3 years in a business Development role with a proven track record of securing 6 figure plus, multiyear contracts
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to use excel and including for financial and numerical analysis (e.g. analysing results)
* Full UK Driving license is essential for this role and flexibility to travel when required
* Degree educated, ideally in a business/commercial discipline

Desirable Criteria:

* Knowledge of the garment/ textile industry
* B2B outsourcing services
* Experience in the construction of commercial tenders for private and public organisations
* Hands on experience of constructing technical responses and financial offers
