My client, a leading global outfit and substantial Northern Ireland employer are recruiting for an experienced tactical Buyer. The job in one of a number of new positions within the business created as a direct result of growth.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will work in a team of buyers and will be responsible for raw material spend at site level. As Buyer, you will be allocated you own portfolio of suppliers and it will be your job to manage the purchase order process from start to finish, negotiating prices and lead times. You will expedite in parts in time for production and use your experience to forecast demand, adjusting stock levels accordingly. This is a fast paced, multi-skilled buyer job and the successful Buyer will work to a demanding set of key performance indicators.
The successful Buyer will enjoy an industry leading package to include base salary of £22000 - £27000 (dependant on experience). Competitive contributory pension and annual leave entitlement available. You will work Monday to Friday in a structured, professional environment which encourages it's people to develop to their full potential.
It is expected that the successful Buyer is educated to HND level. You should have previous tactical buying/ materials planning experience. You should be an analytical buyer with experience of an ERP/MRP system and intermediate Excel skills (this may be tested at interview). Good communication and IT skills are required. If you have a CIPS qualification that would be an advantage, but this is not essential.
