A renowned engineering firm in Belfast are working in partnership with Grafton to recruit for a Buyer Planner. This is a new job in the recently restructured purchasing and supply chain department. The Buyer Planner will join an established business who have been operating in Belfast for more than 60 years. The Buyer Planner will report to the Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for managing the flow of materials from dock to stock to support production requirements. As Buyer Planner you will support the purchasing and materials process, planning and scheduling against fluctuations in demand. You will support the buying function, sourcing and purchasing raw material and indirect goods and services and managing suppliers to ensure on time delivery. The Buyer Planner will seemingly operate my client's in-house MRP system, expedite material as and when required and escalate and resolve all non-conformance issues.

Working hours are 08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 - 13.30 Friday.

The Buyer Planner position is a multifaceted role which incorporates tactical buying and Materials Requirements Planning, therefore, a minimum of 3 years experience in a supply chain/planning role (of at least 1 should be in a manufacturing/engineering environment is required. You should demonstrate excellent IT skills and this will be tested at interview stage. The successful Buyer Planner will work in a fast paced versatile environment and be accountable to a range of targets, therefore, the successful Buyer Planner should be a dynamic, flexible individual who works well under pressure. Working knowledge of an MRP is without question, a must. A degree/CIPS membership/diploma would be advantageous and for shortlisting purposes candidates who demonstrate the essential and desirable criteria will be given preference.
