Grafton Procurement and Supply are working in partnership with a leading engineering firm to recruit for a Buyer / Materials Planner with immediate effect. This is a temporary position and you should be able to start immediately. There are permanent prospects for an outstanding performer.
You will be joining an established business who have been operating in Belfast for more than 60 years. I am keen to hear from immediately available candidates who have experience of purchasing, MRP systems, materials planing or tactical buying as well as immediately available graduates who hold an engineering / purchasing degree and desire to peruse a career in this area.
As Buyer you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials through the facility to facilitate production requirements. As Buyer, you will support the purchasing and materials process by planning and scheduling against fluctuations in demand. You will support the buying function, sourcing and purchasing raw material and indirect goods and services and managing suppliers to ensure on time delivery. The Buyer will be required to operate an in house MRP system, expediting material as and when required and escalating non conformance issues.
This duration of this contract is 3 months plus (subject to business needs) and there may be permanent prospects for an outstanding performer. Working hours are 08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 - 13.30 Friday. Rate of pay is £14.00 per hour plus holiday pay.

The successful Buyer Planner should be available to start within the next 7 days and hold at least 1 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing/engineering environment. You should demonstrate excellent IT skills and this will be tested at interview stage. Graduates who hold an engineering / purchasing and supply chain qualification will also be considered provided you can prove you have a desire to forge a career in the industry.
