Job Description

Grafton Procurement and Supply, Belfast are working in partnership with a leading international e-commerce business who have a worldwide customer portfolio. My client is recruiting for a Buyer to be based at their commercial offices in greater Belfast. This is an exciting time for a Buyer who has worked in a multi-million-pound buying department to carve a career in a renowned business during an exciting period of growth.

As Buyer, you will join a team of buyers and report to the Buying Manager. It will be your job to take a lead role for all buying within your category. You will monitor sales and margin performance, identifying variances against budget and implementing resulting actions. You will calculate sell through plans, achieving desired intake margin. You will negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive terms and where required source new supply chains. As Buyer, you will work cross functionally to ensure optimum inventory levels are maintained. You will work in a fast paced environment and may be responsible for managing support staff.

Hours of work are 39.25 per week, Monday to Friday and start/finish times can be tailored to suit business and individual needs. This role will be initially based at my client's commercial premises in greater Belfast but within the next 12 months you will be moving to a new state of the art premises in North Belfast

The successful Buyer should be a data driven individual with experience of buying within a multi-million-pound buying/merchandising department. Additional essential criteria as follows:

  • Third level qualification, minimum grade 2:2 business related or relevant experience
  • Specific product and market knowledge
  • Experience of E commerce business practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to manipulate data and present it in varied, clear and concise formats
  • Proficient in extracting data from varied sources
  • Ability to query data and filter out desired information with efficient methods of data storage and management
  • Experience with Competitor Monitor and/or Qlikview
