Our Client in the Ballymena area would like to recruit for a Communications Officer to join their team

Role - Communications Officer

Main Responsibilities :

  • Plan and implement communication projects
  • Write, edit, proof read and co-ordinate communication for external audiences
  • Write press releases, statements, briefing papers and articles for media
  • Respond to media requests and brief journalists
  • Provide communication and marketing advice to managers and staff
  • Work with external suppliers as appropriate to obtain quotes, brief printers and liaise through proofing stage to produce printed publications
  • Develop online content and disseminate through social media channels
  • Provide event organisation advice and support
  • Maintain quality standards for the corporate communications department
  • Provide support to the corporate communications team as required
  • Participate in the on call rota

Essential Criteria:

  • A university degree or recognised professional qualification in Communications, marketing, public relations or journalism


  • At least 1 years experience working in a communications role


  • At least 3 years experience in a communications or marketing role
  • Experience in planning and implementing communication strategies and using external communication tools including digital communications
  • Knowledge of the media and writing press, releases and articles for the media
  • Experience of dealing with the media both proactively
  • Knowledge and experience of writing, editing, proof reading and coordinating the production of leaflets and printed materials
  • Knowledge of event management processes
  • High level communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of organisations and individuals
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising work in order to meet deadlines
  • Current full driving licence
