Job Description

Our client in the Coleraine area are looking to recruit a full time Permanent Compliance Auditor to join their team on a rota basis

Purpose of Position:

To assess compliance against defined corporate and customer policies, Quality, Health &Safety and Environmental Standards and product specifications through independent audit.

Provide Guidance and support to facilitate the implementation and on-going maintenance of Quality/Regulatory policies, Food Safety Programmes(HACCP) procedures and product specifications.

Promote a high standard of awareness and understanding at site level of appropriate policies, procedures and product specifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out audits of the quality, Health and safety and Environmental Management Systems to verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice
  • Perform Quality audits to verify compliance against defined standards, codes of practice and product specification
  • Facilitate the resolution and close out of issues/incidents which have been identified as part of audit or process monitoring activities
  • Set Continuous improvements standards are set
  • Facilitate the implementation of Quality standards by ensuring the necessary support is made available to the Production stream and other functional areas
  • Management of Supplier and Customer Specifications
  • Calibration of Inspection and Test Equipment
  • Sample Management
  • Facilitate Pest Control

Essential Criteria:

  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills
  • Fluency of English language
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
  • Food Manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Understand of Food Safety and Quality Management systems
  • Knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply
  • strong self discipline and a structured approach to improvements
  • the ability to identify and actively plan improvements
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment
  • Effective communicator

Desirable Criteria:

  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject
  • Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of H+S Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management systems e.g. ISO 14001
