Distribution centre Manager

Salary - £40000 - £5000 plus benefits

Location: County Antrim

Grafton Specialist recruitment has been retained to recruit for a Distribution centre Manager for a major food distribution company based in Co Antrim. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Distribution centre Manager to join a diverse, award winning company within the food industry and develop their career further.


  • Responsible for budgetary control and KPI delivery
  • Create and support training and development for management team, building a robust succession plan for all critical roles
  • Lead a multi-disciplined workforce through a lean management structure
  • Engage and manage internal stakeholder relationships with the regional support functions, colleagues within logistics and corporate sales and other relevant group support departments
  • Ability to create a strategic plan and translate this into transactional activities
  • Ability to lead, motivate and engage a multi disciplined team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels both internally & externally
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Leading, Supporting and Developing your team of managers to achieve results and deliver on targets
  • Capacity Planning and workload scheduling, particularly for growth and expansion
  • Production Control, leading the production management team to ensure operating procedures and processes are implemented, controlled and improved
  • Must display the ability to lead people with tact, diplomacy & maturity and possess the personal drive to inspire others to reach the goals as set out in the strategic and operational plans
  • Accountable for the leadership and management of the sites on a day-to-day basis
  • Responsible for developing and leading a Health & Safety culture. Including adherence to all Health & Safety and Legal obligations and adherence to Company policies and procedures
  • Financial responsibility, working closely with the finance team to ensure that all work practices and operational processes are delivering in line with overall company financial targets
  • Overall responsibility for Health and safety on the site

Essential Criteria

  • Six sigma or Lean qualifications
  • Over 3 years experience in a similar role
  • 7 years general management experience within a distribution environment
  • 3 years senior leadership experience
  • Full understanding of current commercial vehicle legislation

Desirable Criteria

  • CILT membership
  • International CPC qualified
