Temporary Principal Scientific Officer required for a local government organisation based in Belfast.
Starting ASAP potentially for 10 months.
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm = 37/37.5 hours per week
Duties will include:
To support and assist the Head of Agri-Environment Branch in the day to day management of the EAA Soil Testing Scheme and other research projects as necessary.
Management of the project entitled the EAA Soil Testing Scheme. This will involve managing people, budgets, project administration for audit purpose, preparing communications material for staff and farmers and monitor progress.
Management of, and report preparation for, research projects in the area of agri-environment
Establishing and maintaining linkages with other research groups in the UK, Republic of Ireland and internationally
- Prepare written reports of progress and results
- An honours degree in agricultural science, environmental science, soil science, chemistry, soil microbiology, or a related academic field.
- Experience of managing research projects, staff and facilities.
- Have access to a form of transport to meet the requirements of the post in full
