Job Description

Our Client, a large Public Sector Organisation require a temporary Environmental Health Officer to start ASAP

37 hrs per week

Pay Rate : 0-12 weeks £13.15
13 weeks £14.76

Essential Criteria :

  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
  • Hold a certificate of registration from the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board
  • The ability to communicate effectively, through persuasion, advocacy and sensitivity, across a range of matters
  • Have a proven organisational ability with the commitment to delivering high quality services
  • Effective personal skills, including the ability to forward plan and to effectively to prioritise work subject to frequently changing problems, circumstance or demand
  • Ability to undertake work of a more complex nature that requires advanced knowledge and skill across a range of specialist disciplines
  • Innovation, creativity and expertise across a range of subjects
  • Ability to work proactively with a minimum of supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good decision making skills

Main Duties :

  • Work as part of a team under direction of Managers
  • To investigate and seek a resolution of complex/difficult complaints/requests for service received by the department across the range of Environmental Health Functions
  • To provide advice to the public, business proprietors and statutory agencies on Environmental Health Legislation/guidance/practice
  • Provide cover for the Enforcement Officer across the full range of specified functions
  • Provide cover for the Environmental Health Manager as required

  • Undertake all duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation of the Client
  • Undertake any other duties as allocated in accordance with the needs of the Client and the Environmental Health Department
