Job Description

Estimator | Architecture | Permanent Role

Responsibilities:

  1. Compiling estimates, budgets and cost plans
  2. Thorough measurement of façades and panelisation of schemes
  3. Thorough review of tender documents, drawings, specifications and contracts
  4. Assessing material, labour and equipment costs
  5. Analysing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
  6. Preparation of documentation
  7. Compiling Quality Tender Submissions
  8. Pre-, Mid- & Post-Tender meetings
  9. Cost advice to Architects, PQS, Developers and Main Contractors
  10. Dealing with clients Pre & Post Sales.
  11. Working alongside Sales and Marketing Colleagues
  12. Reporting to Commercial Manager
  13. Interfacing and dealing with other departments

Requirements:

  1. 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics Degree / Diploma /
  2. A Technical Architectural or Engineering background will also be considered if the candidate can demonstrate a good commercial awareness
  3. Minimum 3 years' experience with a contractor or PQS practice
  4. Ability to utilise IT equipment effectively and adapt to new Software technologies
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  6. Working knowledge of various forms of contract
