Job Description

Finance & Systems Manager

Grafton are looking for an experienced Finance & Systems Manager for a 3 Month contract in Antrim. The successful candidate will provide advice and guidance to senior managers and other staff on a departmental wide basis on financial and information system matters in liaison with the business manager and Finance and Resource Department as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and ensure the effective running of all aspects of the finance function within the department with particular regard to financial and management accounts, budget preparation, financial control, management and reporting, purchasing and payroll
  • To develop and maintain the departments medium term financial strategy and provide timely and accurate management information and advice with regard to all financial aspects to the Business Manager, director, and senior management
  • To co-ordinate the preparation of the departmental revenue and capital programme estimates in liaison with the departmental management team, and to co-ordinate the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets
  • To lead the development, implementation and review of operating practices, systems and procedures
  • Contribute to policy and strategic development through participating in working groups
  • Contribute to the development, monitoring and review of the departmental business plan including proposed annual objectives, work programmes and performance indicators and the preparation of consequential expenditure estimates in liaison with the Business Manager

Key Skills:

  • CCAB Qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of financial management of capital and revenue projects and programmes including the production of financial performance information
  • Preparing significant revenue estimates and managing and monitoring substantial budgets which are integrated into the business planning process
  • Management and development of systems and processes to meet the varying business needs of an organisation
  • Managing and motivating members of staff
  • Contributing to the Business Plan for the service and the department
