Our Client, a market leader in the production industry, is seeking a Full Time Purchasing Assistant.
Hours: Full-time, Mon to Thurs:8.30am to 5.15pm Fri: 8.30am to 4.00pm (1 hour lunch break everyday)
Main duties/Responsibilities will include:
Review demand flowing from the Materials Requirement Planning system for assigned raw materials and packaging portfolios.
Liaise with planning to ensure manufacturing plan is met and to notify any potential shortfalls or difficulties in supply.
Maintain the appropriate supplier and pricing information to allow the Materials Requirement Planning and ordering systems to operate effectively.
Notify the Purchasing Manager of any major changes to production programs.
Manage the ordering of production and non-production consumables.
- Assist the Maintenance Repair Operations buyer.
Be educated to A level standard or equivalent.
Have extensive spreadsheet and data analysis skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Have a full understanding of the procurement process from initial request for quotes through to invoicing of goods received.
Be proactive and flexible in day to day approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Have excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
Openness and willing to change, strive to improve standards/quality and contribute to key projects.
Ability to work under pressure and have excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to build strong interdepartmental relationships.
