Health & Safety and Environmental Manager
Reporting to the General Manager in this role you will be responsible for championing Health, Safety and the Environment at the site and in partnership with Line Management implement a comprehensive / effective best in class, compliant Health and Safety Management system and EMS system to identify, address and manage risk and to reduce accidents and costs.
This is highly demanding role within the Business therefore you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success gained within a relevant Health & Safety role, along with an in depth knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislation. Due to the demanding nature of this position, preference will be given to those with a NEBOSH certificate or similar qualification / experience and hands on experience in conducting audits, investigations and root cause analysis. A working knowledge of ISO14001:2004 and an understanding of environmental permitting regulations and permit management.
Although not essential, it would be desirable to have experience of food manufacturing environment and an integration of Health & Safety with quality management systems specifically with a background in Maintenance / Engineering field.
As a manager within the site you must also be able to demonstrate the qualities associated with an effective role model such as professionalism, excellent communication skills, and integrity.
