Job Description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation require a Media Communications Officer to start ASAP until end of September 2017 with possibility of extension

Pay rate: 0-12 week's £7.75p/h

13+ week's £12.04p/h

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Essential Criteria

A degree in a relevant subject

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent written English language skills, with good grammar and an understanding of copy skills, particularly for digital content
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and online resources
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills - to help us bring our work to life
  • Good technical knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, analytics
  • Desirable to have work experience in communications


  • Create and distribute content across our existing social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram
  • Consider and propose the development of new social media platforms including Pinterest and Snapchat
  • Write and proof read communications for offline and online channels
  • Provide support to the 3 Every Body Active 2020 sub-groups of IT Solutions, Marketing & Branding and Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Update our website using the content management system
  • Support networking and training events
  • Personally run small creative Every Body Active 2020 projects, with support from the team
  • Take part in participation team planning and training
  • Develop a photography and videography library and organise shoots
  • Social Media, Report Writing and Project Writing
