Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation require a Peace IV Understanding Our Area Project Officer to join their team asap

Role : Peace IV Understanding Our Area Project Officer.

Location : Ballymoney

Hours of work : 37 hrs per week Monday to Friday but some flexibility around evenings and Saturday

Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £11.62 13 weeks + £13.45

Main Duties :

  • Assist the Museum Service Development Manager (MSDM) to develop the PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme in the community and outside museum venues.
  • Deliver PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme in the community and outside museum venues including workshops, training, exhibitions, events, tours to the agreed targets.
  • Engage with the community to develop and implement PEACEIV Understanding Our Area projects and resources including oral histories, creative responses, exhibitions, trails and publications.
  • Project manage specific Understanding our Area community engagement projects. This includes project planning, managing suppliers and services, organising and chairing project meetings, administration, reports, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assist MSDM in the development and delivery of the PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme web platform.
  • Assist MSDM with PR, social media & marketing for PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme.
  • Facilitate community engagement with the collections through, for example, organising museum visits, handling workshops by Museum Services staff.
  • Provide training, advice and support to local groups engaged in PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme activities.
  • Maintain all records, monitoring forms and prepare all reports and claims for PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme.
  • Contribute to the development, delivery, monitoring and review of Council's Cultural Services Strategy, associated business plan(s), services, facilities and programmes contained therein.
  • Assist the MSDM to manage PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme resources, budgets and procurement including the timely delivery within budget of all projects and contracts.
  • Assist the MSDM with implementation and maintenance of all systems for the effective management of risk, performance and Health & Safety.
  • By its nature the post will require flexible working to meet the needs of the PEACEIV Understanding our Area Programme. Attend meetings of the Council and any relevant working groups as required.
  • Act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for local Government employees.
  • Comply with and actively promote the Council's policies and procedures, including those relating to Fair employment, Equal Opportunities, and Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
  • Undertake the duties outlined above in a way which will enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of the Council.
  • Undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate to the achievement of the purpose and function of this post.

Essential Criteria :

Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of application have:

EITHER

  • A third level, or equivalent, qualification in a relevant subject such as Museum Heritage, Community Development or related field of study.

AND

  • Two years' experience of working with;
  1. Community groups
  2. Managing community projects.
  3. Working with external funders including Reports, Claims, Monitoring and Evaluation.

OR

  • Four years' experience of working with;
  1. Community groups
  2. Managing community projects.
  3. Working with external funders including Reports, Claims, Monitoring and Evaluation.

PLUS

  • Two years' experience of coordinating and delivering heritage projects including one or more of the following;

Desirable Criteria :

1 years' experience of working in a collections based organisation in one or more of the following;

  • Museums
  • Libraries
  • Archives
  • Historic Sites
