Job Description
Production & Logistics Planner
Location: Lurgan
Salary: £25000
You will be required to work Sunday to Thursday
My client is one of Ireland's most successful and innovative manufacturers and is a market leader in the packaging industry. They have a vacancy for a Production & Logistics Planner (the position has arisen through continued expansion)
Reporting to the Logistics Manager you will work as part of the Production Planning Team. As part of the role you will be required to cover for Planners and Despatch Cell Leaders when necessary
Duties:
- Production Scheduling to fully utilise available resources (equipment, labour, materials, energy) with minimal waste (lean) and whilst meeting customer demands
- Liaising with key stakeholders in the business including Operations, Sales, Finance understanding their needs and meeting these in the most efficient way for the factory
- Communicating Production Schedule to key stakeholders via weekly planning meeting
- Issuing Work Orders and updating MRP system as required
- Bill of Material (BOM) Creation & Maintenance
- Understanding of all product specifications and customer requirements
- Flagging any shortfalls in production so as to ensure continuity of supply to customer base
- Participate in route cause investigation and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Develop, prepare and improve processes, procedures and instructions
- Identify cost reduction, quality and service improvement opportunities and provide suggestions for improvements
- Complete stocks audits & stock takes at month end
- Monitor and report on Schedule Adherence and Production constraints
- Refresh and plan loads
- Liaise with Dispatch/Sales/transport company - during periods of cover for Despatch Cell Leader
- Responsibility for KPI Measuring that includes Label OTIF & Scrap
Essential Criteria
- Have a reasonable standard of education to include GCSE level or equivalent passes in Maths and English
- Have at least 2 years' experience working in a similar role, within a high volume manufacturing environment
- Be computer literate with strong knowledge and experience of MS Excel
- Possess excellent organisational skills and have the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Have MRP experience
Desirable
- A CIPS qualification or other relevant qualification
- Experience of EPICOR or a similar MRP system
