Job Description

Sales and Business Development Manager

Grafton are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading FMCG company for a Sales and Business Development Manager with a proven track record of commercial success in a competitive environment. You will report into the Company Directors holding responsibility for creating and implementing marketing and business development strategies for the business. The ultimate goal will be to improve the organisation's market position and achieve financial growth.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to develop the brand identity for the business through various channels, which include PR, social media and exhibitions. Through identification of market trends, you will be expected, to guide the business into new markets with new products and services.


* Manage a portfolio of accounts, maximising on volume, revenue and contribution in Ireland and UK
* Develop and Sales & Marketing strategy for Irish and UK markets
* Manage the Sales function, achieving financial growth
* Through regular visits and meetings develop relationships with customers across multi functions, positioning the company as a supplier of credibility and choice
* Provide accurate forecasts on a monthly basis
* Ensure timely contract negotiations and provide deal sheets to the business
* Prepare costing forms
* Log all quotations and customer information in the Sales Database
* Establish delivery locations and pack specifications in co-ordination with planning and the customer
* Develop new contacts/opportunities
* Develop business improvement plan
* Coordinate continuous improvement projects with key customers
* Create and deliver impactful presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
* Engage with Invest NI and other funding bodies to create marketing/sales applications to help with investment
* Support the business in any other duties as deemed relevant by the management

Person Specification:

* Extensive FMCG sales experience working at a senior level
* Graduate degree with a business / sales/ marketing background
* You will have experience of dealing with the UK Grocery MULTs and be able to lead a team through to success
* Proven leadership qualities, experienced in managing direct and indirect reports and implementing structure, process and rigour
* Self-assured and self-confident being able to relate to staff at all levels within the organisation
* Self-driven, results orientated with a passionate approach and able to bring people on a journey
* You will be organised and detailed in your approach
* You will hold strong analytical skills, and able to demonstrate your ability to influence across all levels of business
* Comfortable interpreting and presenting market data such as Kantar and AIMIA
* Experience of people development, mentoring and coaching
* First class negotiation, presentation and communication skills
* Commercial acumen with the ability to understand P+L, budgets and margins
