Job Description

Sales and Marketing Manager

Grafton are currently recruiting for a leading supplier in the construction industry for a Sales and Marketing Manager. You will assist in developing, implementing, executing and analysing a fully integrated sales and marketing strategy. Responsibilities:

* Lead, develop and motivate sales team toward the achievement of targets and objectives and ensure training is carried out to support this development
* Management of a team of 7 sales executives and 2 estimators
* Development a sales strategy and process to secure a strong sales pipeline in both B2B and B2C markets
* In conjunction with the senior management team to develop and execute a clear and effective marketing strategy
* Liaise with inter-company divisions to ensure contracts are being identified and won in line with financial targets for the Company and that all relevant opportunities are being exploited
* Preparation of information for CFT's, ITT's, PQQ's etc.
* Proactively identify new customers, markets and opportunities in both domestic and commercial markets
* To develop profitable business growth through effective sales and marketing activities for both new and existing customers and markets including NI, ROI and mainland UK
* To achieve annual sales and margin targets whilst contributing towards the Company's growth in line with the business plan
* Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects and recommending solutions
* Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities
* Proactively develop knowledge on industry trends, customer needs and competitor activities
* Develop and maintain an appropriate level of reporting providing monthly updates on activities undertaken and key activities going forward
* To attend and support marketing events in line with business requirements
* Continuously develop, implement and coordinate a sales and marketing strategy in line with the organisation's growth and earnings targets
* Identify business opportunities and build sales in new and existing markets
* Develop systems and processes to ensure a robust sales pipeline is maintained and accurate forecasting is achieved
* Work closely with senior management team to ensure that the growth in sales is managed appropriately and that all functions within the business are aware of commercial performance
* Feedback market intelligence to the business to assist with ongoing product development and innovation
* Any other duties as reasonably required

Essential Criteria:

* 3 years' experience in sales and marketing management at a senior level OR 6 years' experience in a leading business development role including identifying and securing sales opportunities
* Able to demonstrate a strong track record of business growth ideally in both B2C and B2B markets
* Demonstrable experience of preparing ITT's and PQQ's
* Experience of developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies
* Experience of using and developing KPI's to monitor and drive performance within a team
* Strong commercial acumen
* Strong negotiation skills
* Excellent communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

* Construction industry experience
* Relevant market and product knowledge
* Keen understanding of the construction process and market
