Job Description

Sales Consultant

Grafton are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading security company for a Sales Consultant with a proven track record of commercial success in a competitive B2B environment. You will identify and influence specifiers and potential end users of security and fire systems solutions. You will design and sell electronic security and fire systems solution and associated maintenance contracts to new and existing residential, retail, licensed, commercial and industrial customers in Northern Ireland in line with current industry regulations and agreed business plans.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain and grow a personal specifier, prospect and customer database
* Respond to, plan and prioritise relative sales enquiries in a timely and professional manner from multiple sources including post, telephone, internet, building planning database, trade ads and engineer referrals.
* Develop new customers through liaison with systems specifiers, electrical contractors, FM companies, cold calling individual prospects together with identification of and initiating contact with multiple outlet companies to whom we may be able to offer an integrated fire and security solution
* Develop business from existing customers through identifying a need for an upgrade to a new solution and/or cross selling additional products to those previously purchased
* Achieve monthly and annual sales and profitability targets through ethical methods and agreed strategies
* Monitor and report on local market and competitor activity
* Produce, record, present and follow up specifications and quotations in a timely manner and strictly to the format and standards required by the company and the National Security Inspectorate (NSI)
* Attend internal and external training courses provided to develop relevant personal skills, product knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations
* Attend and present where required at internal company meetings, external customer presentations, supplier exhibitions and company marketing functions
* Adhere to company and customer health and safety policies and codes of conduct at all times

Person Specification:

* Strong sales experience in a Business to Business or Contracting sales environment for fire and security or engineering
* PC literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Sales oriented with strong influencing skills to gain trust and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
* Will be competitive in their approach to business
* Ability to show initiative and able to create imaginative solutions
* Must have excellent communication skills with a direct manner
* Full driving licence is essential
