Job Description

Sales Manager

Grafton are recruiting for a Sales Manager on behalf of a well known media company. You will implement the company's sales and marketing strategy and effectively manage the sales team, thereby maximising profitable sales.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement the company's sales and marketing strategy
* Lead, motivate and develop the sales team
* Plan and prepare targets and budgets for marketing and promotional activities
* Increase level of advertising revenue generated from on line activity
* Co-ordinate the company's participation in trade shows, exhibitions and other relevant events
* Raise the profile of the company with key decision makers
* Develop new business opportunities including maximising the effectiveness of the company website and other digital platforms
* Develop new features and concepts for each of the publications
* Develop a network of contacts within the industry through personal contact
* Attend relevant functions on behalf of the company
* Personally generate new profitable sales in line with agreed targets
* Detail pricing arrangements with customers
* Generate competitor profile and gather information regarding prices and discounts
* Maintain regular contact with customer base and keeping customers updated on changes in the company's offering
* Work positively with the senior management team reporting on advertising activities on a monthly basis
* Interface with other internal departments on a proactive basis to meet the needs of the company
* Be supportive of the objectives and ethos of the company
* Any other duties role may involve

Person Specification:

* 3 years' sales experience gained in a relevant environment - e.g. media, advertising etc.
* Experience of managing staff
* Experience of web based selling
* Understanding of web based marketing approaches
* Good level of secondary education demonstrating high degree of numeracy & literacy
* Excellent communication and influencing skills including presentation and negotiation skills, both oral & written
* Effective planning and organisation skills
* Computer literate
* Clearly demonstrated leadership ability
* Self motivated
* Able to work on own initiative and adapt to change
* Ability to generate new and creative ideas and innovative solutions to problems
* Able to travel as required
* Current driving licence - preferably clean
